Description
This 2023 Britannia contains new anti-counterfeiting security features, contains a 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver and is the “staple” bullion coin currently offered in the Britannia series. This particular rendition was recreated by Jody Clark from the original that first appeared on coins during the reign of Roman Emperor Hadrian (and was later sculpted by Philip Nathan in 1987). It has been so popular and trusted amongst investors that it is now used on a range of products from bullion coins (known commonly as “Britannias”) to bars of varying metals and weights. The Royal Mint added patterns of waves and detailed engravings to promote extra security features as well as offer a magnificent visual appeal. *Note: Some Britannia coins minted prior to 2022 may not contain all of the same security features.
Obverse: The likeness of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II (the last year she was alive), along with the denomination backed by the British Government.
Reverse: The internationally recognized female personification of Britannia, the weight, purity, and date.
Diameter: 38.61 mm; Thickness: 3 mm.
