This 90% silver commemorative dollar is a tribute to Abraham Lincoln’s 200th birthday. They were authorized for minting under Public Law 109-285. In response to their authorization, the US Mint implemented a 500,000 coin limit for both the proof and uncirculated varieties combined. After only six weeks of being released, just about all of the coins minted were sold out!
