In December of 2014, Johnson Matthey completed the sale of its gold and silver refining business to Asahi Holdings, Inc., commonly known simply as Asahi.  We believe this sale – and the fact that silver bars are no longer being produced with the Johnson Matthey name on them – will make the “old” Johnson Matthey branded silver bars even more desirable and collectible in the future.
