Description
This half troy ounce of .999 fine silver round from The Golden State Mint is an homage to the first dollar coin issued by the United States Mint in 1794. The first US Dollar it is paying tribute to was based on the popular Spanish trade dollar (referred to “pieces of 8”) that was already being commonly used in America at that time.
Obverse: Woman with Flowing Hair, and the date 1793.
Reverse: A design almost like the reverse of the wheat penny, with “Golden State Mint,” the weight and purity of the coin inscribed.
