Description
This 1/4 Troy Ounce .999 silver round from the Golden State Mint features a tribute to one of the National Anthropology Museum of Mexico’s most visually striking artifacts — the Aztec Calendar Stone. This impeccable work of art originated sometime around 1470 AD and contains an incredibly complex cosmological calendar as well as a tribute to Tonatiuh, the Aztec God of Sun.
The obverse side shows the Aztec Calendar, while the reverse portrays Cuauhtémoc, the final Aztec Emperor, whose name means “he who has descended like an eagle.”
