Description
The snake is the sixth installment of the Perth Mint’s Australian Lunar Series III, and it is also the sixth animal in the Chinese Zodiac calendar. This 2 troy ounce .9999 fine silver coin is brilliantly uncirculated with proof-like qualities. It also comes in a mint-sealed capsule for protection during travel.
Although the snake is often feared for its (seldomly venomous) bite, it is also associated with intelligence and intuition. Those born under the year of this sign are said to possess keen intelligence and wisdom and can intuitively predict and plan their “striking moment” in many of life’s battles.
The reverse of the coin displays a snake in striking position, with a stream of water in the background. The snake’s image seems proof-like with a mirrored finish. The statement, “Year of the Snake” is inscribed on the top of the coin, along with the mint-mark “P” and the Chinese symbol for “snake”. Turning the coin over, you will notice a beautiful upgrade of the famous portrait of His Majesty The King Charles III. Due to the raised engraving and proof-like features, the King looks as if he is almost coming out of the coin towards the viewer. Surrounding the rim of the coin are the words, “Australia”, 1 oz .999 silver, 2025, and the coin’s denomination of $2.
Diameter: 40.9 mm.
