Description
The Rabbit is the fourth installment of the Perth Mint’s Australian Lunar Series III, and it is also the fourth animal in the Chinese Zodiac calendar. This 2 troy ounce .9999 fine silver coin is brilliantly uncirculated with proof-like qualities. It also comes in a mint-sealed capsule for protection during travel.
Although rabbits may seem to be just pesky rodents that often destroy farmers’ crops, they are also believed to be intelligent, creative, vigilant and compassionate. Those born under the year of this sign are said to also possess these qualities.
The reverse of the coin displays two rabbits, with one stretching upwards towards a budding branch. The image of the rabbits seem proof-like with a mirrored finish. The statement, “Year of the Rabbit” is inscribed on the top of the coin, along with the mint-mark “P” and the Chinese symbol for “snake”. Turning the coin over, you will notice a beautiful upgrade of the famous portrait of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II. Due to the raised engraving and proof-like features, the Queen looks as if she is almost coming out of the coin towards the viewer. Surrounding the rim of the coin are the words, “Australia”, 1 oz .999 silver, 2025, and the coin’s denomination of $2.
Diameter: 40.9 mm.
