Description
This 250 gram (8.04 troy ounce) .999 fine silver St. Helena coin-bar is a bar-shaped bullion coin depicting the square-rigged merchant ship that was part of the East India Company. The East India Company was founded in the early 1600’s to meet the English demand for the rich trade items found in the East Indies. The bars are legal tender and backed by the government of St. Helena, which was once a vital trade port of the East India Company’s trade routes.
Obverse: The likeness of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II, the weight, date, purity, and denomination of the coin-bar.
Reverse: A square-rigged merchant ship from the 1600’s sailing on the open seas.
