Description
1921 was an interesting year for Silver Dollars in America, as it was the last year of the Morgan design and also the first year of the Peace Dollar, which was introduced in December of 1921 to celebrate the end of World War I when the world was finally at peace again. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of that historic year, the United States Mint released both 1921-dated Morgan and Peace dollars in beautiful packaging with a Certificate of Authenticity. These beautiful 2021 Philadelphia Peace Silver Dollars are very similar to the classic Peace Silver Dollars of the early 1900s, but different – while they have the same weight as the originals, at 26.73 grams, they are made from .999 fine silver as opposed to the .900 fineness of the originals. This results in their containing about .858 ounces of pure silver as opposed to about .7734 ounces of pure silver in the original Peace Silver Dollars.
