The Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota is celebrated on this beautiful 5 oz, .999 fine silver America the Beautiful coin.  This was the fourth America the Beautiful 5 oz silver coin released by the U.S. Mint in 2016, and the stunningly detailed reverse, designed and engraved by Joel Iskowitz and Phebe Hemphill, depicts a young Theodore Roosevelt surveying the terrain on horseback, with the Little Missouri River seen in the background.  The obverse features John Flanagan’s classic depiction of George Washington, which has appeared on our circulating quarters (with very minor changes) since 1932.
