Description
The Perth Mint’s Wedge-Tailed Eagle Silver Coin is one of the more striking designs to come out of Australia courtesy of legendary former US Mint Chief Engraver: John Mercanti. The Wedge Tail Eagle is the largest and the most widely dispersed bird in Australia. It’s name comes from it’s unique tail that has the shape of a wedge. The reverse of this coin depicts this majestic bird perched on top of a broken branch in a tree scanning his surrounds for prey. This coin has a low-mintage of only 50,000.
