Description
This Chinese Panda coin from the Chinese Mint features a yearly-changing design and contains one troy ounce of .999 fine silver. This year’s design consists of a chubby Panda munching on some bamboo leaves, and additional bamboo branches in the background. It is an early release from the Chinese Mint, guaranteed by the People’s Bank of China, and has been graded as a perfect MS70 by NGC. Note: although the coin was found to be flawless at the time it was graded, it is possible for certain “milk spots” or toning to develop over time.
Obverse: The Hall of Prayer in the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, encircled by the phrase “People’s Republic of China” and the year.
Reverse: A chubby Panda eating leaves, and the denomination. Weight and purity are absent for this year’s coin, which was the last in the series to contain a full troy ounce of silver (2016 was the first year in which 30g of silver became the new weight).
Diameter: 40 mm
