Description
Known as “Blue Ikes” because of their government issued blue outer envelope, these 40% silver Eisenhower Dollar coins were produced from 1971 to 1974. The government also produced 40% silver Eisenhower Dollars for the 1976 Bicentennial, but they were only available in the 3-piece proof sets or mint sets, which also included a 40% silver Bicentennial Kennedy Half Dollar and Washington Quarter. All 40% silver Eisenhower Dollars were minted at the San Francisco Mint and feature the “S” mint mark below the truncation of Eisenhower’s neck.
