40% Silver Proof Eisenhower Dollars minted from 1971 thru 1974 are commonly referred to as “Brown Ikes” because they were originally shipped by the US Mint in a clear plastic lens with a black insert, and that lens was housed in a brown wood grain cardboard presentation box with a red interior.  For ease of shipping, we don’t ship the brown box; these coins will ship in their original US Mint plastic lens only, inside a protective clear plastic shipping bag
