The America the Beautiful Silver Coin Series is notable for it’s large, and beautifully designed illustrations, making them a prized gift for the discerning silver collector. The Specimen version of this coin is vapor blasted after minting, giving them a distinctive matte finish. They are also incased in plastic capsule for added protection and are placed in a presentation box. In addition the Specimen version is distinguished from the bullion version by the “P” mint mark engraved below “IN GOD WE TRUST”
This coin commemorates the Kisatchie National Forest, founded in 1930 during the presidency of Herbert Hoover, the forest conserves habitat for a wide variety of plant and animal species in the South Central Plains region of northern Louisiana.
The reverse of this coin depicts a soaring wild turkey with Louisiana’s long leaf pine trees in the background.
