– From the Gold Perth Lunar Series II which was minted in limited number from 2008 to 2019 and featured a different animal every year, starting with the mouse/rat. Based upon the 12-year Chinese lunar calendar which dates back to 2,600 B.C., this half ounce coin associates a different animal with each year in which a person may be born. The animals are believed to have an intimate association with the personalities of the persons born in those years.
Obverse: Likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Reverse: Image of a dragon chasing a flaming pearl and traditional Chinese characters that spell “Dragon.”
