This 2021 “Rising Virtues” coin is part of the Silver Shield collection from the Golden State Mint and contains 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver. The design is a tribute to Aristotle’s cardinal virtues: Prudence, Temperence, Justice, and Courage. Each virtue has been personified as women, similar to how other virtues are depicted on many forms of coins backed by sovereign governments.

Obverse: Four females personifying the cardinal virtues with beaming rays of sunlight in the background.

Reverse: The iconic Silver Shield design with a sword, a Trivium pattern, the weight, date, and purity of the coin.
