Description
The Silver Spade Guinea Shield coin series, launched in 2018, is a tribute to one of the UK’s most celebrated coins: the gold Guinea. The historical gold Guinea was introduced into circulation in 1663 under the reign of King Charles II. It was one of the first machine-struck coins containing gold to have ever circulated in England. This tribute is made out of .999 fine silver and features the Royal Arms of the Hanoverian monarchy of England on one side, with the depiction of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II on the other.
Obverse: The right-facing likeness of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II. Also inscribed: The date and denomination.
Reverse: The Royal Coat of Arms of the Hanoverian monarchy of England. Also inscribed are the weight and purity.
