This 2020 1 oz .999 fine Silver round from Silver Shield features the iconic image of Christianity: Christ be crucified on the cross. A tribute to our Lord and Savior, who chose to be put to death in the most excruciating way imaginable in order to die for our sins. The letters INRI are inscribed, which is and abbreviation for Iesvs Nazarenvs Rex Ivdaeorvm — also known in English as “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.” Jesus had a choice: admit he was lying and not the prophesized son of God and be set free; or, faithfully maintain what he knew to be true in order to be put to death for our sins as the Lamb of God — The ultimate sacrifice. Jesus chose a horrific, tortuous death to die for what he knew was the truth. This same fate was met by most of his disciples as well, who also were punished and put to death for their beliefs.
