This 2019 Silver Maple Leaf was struck in one troy ounce of .9999 fine silver and features the highly successful incused Maple Leaf design first used in 2018 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Maple Leaf Silver Dollar. The design is different from most Canadian silver Maple Leaf coins in that the iconic Maple Leaf is sunk into the coin instead of protruding outwards from its surroundings like the other years’ designs. These modern Maple Leaf coins have added security features to them, such as micro engraved lines and Bullion DNA technology, to help authenticate genuine coins and to prevent against counterfeiting. 2018, the inaugural year of the incused design, was also the first year the Royal Canadian Mint began using MINTSHIELD technology to help prevent white “milk spots” from forming both during and after minting. The 2019 incused Maple design was limited to only 250,000 coins, making it sure to be a true hit amongst collectors.
